Max Otto Ziztelsberger (DE)
We are an anti-professional architectural practice. We like the indeterminate, the accidental, non-places, shabby corners, suburban spaces. Thus, quite incidentally, we discover the beauty of the banal. We are interested in the unfinished, the contradictory, the deconstructive, in transitional states, fragments and torsos. By deconstruction, we do not mean an act of wanton vandalism, but rather a productive form of destruction. The dilettantish act of tinkering (in German “murxen”) is thereby elevated to the status of a professional method. Implicit in this – quite incidentally – is an allusion to the title of the legendary German cult play by Christoph Marthaler, staged within a set design by Anna Viebrock. As she once remarked: “I find it incredibly interesting to watch things decay.”

Jonas Maczioschek, Jakob Hügues, Max Zitzelsberger

Max Otto Zitzelsberger is a German architect with his own practice based in Bavaria, as well as a Junior Professor of Tectonics in Timber Construction at the University Kaiserslautern-Landau RPTU.
