Norwegian producer Morten Martens has lived with music most of his life — more than twenty years spent quietly behind the scenes, shaping other people’s records. As Les Imprimés he steps forward with a sound devoted to ’50s doo-wop, easy listening, ’60s and ’70s soul, the soft textures of the ’80s and the alt-rock aesthetics of the ’90s and ’00s, with hip-hop in its DNA. His new album «Fading Forward» is warm, analog and human — nostalgic yet still very much now, carrying the weight of years spent absorbing groove, melody and emotional truth.
