Perfect Sounds Forever presents Kanaan at Landmark.
In 2026 Kanaan mark ten years as a band with their tenth album, simply titled Kanaan. Making it self-titled came naturally: it rests on a musical bedrock the trio have built over a decade, and on the new record they dig further into the styles that make up their sound. The melodic passages are hummable, the psychedelic ones further out, the analogue textures vintage and unpolished — and the riffs heavier than ever. The band describe the album as a celebration of what they have achieved musically, and of everything they have lived through as close friends playing together. Kanaan was recorded at Athletic Sound in Halden with engineer Dag Erik Johansen, and is released on Jansen Records on 16 October.
Alongside constant touring and yearly releases, the trio keep any number of other projects going. They also play together in the large ensemble Full Earth, performing music by drummer and composer Ingvald André Vassbø, who is likewise in Sex Magick Wizards and has deputised in Motorpsycho in recent years. Bassist Eskild Myrvoll plays hardcore in Daufødt, and guitarist Ask Vatn Strøm is lead guitarist in the dream-pop band Cloud Cuckoo.
