Perfect Sounds Forever presents Grant-Lee Phillips (US) at Landmark.
Last year Grant-Lee Phillips released his twelfth solo album, the self-produced «In the Hour of Dust» — a contemplative work that doesn’t shy away from the big themes of contemporary life. «The mood on this album is contemplative», says Phillips, «trying to find meaning in an age of confusion». Audiences first discovered his thoughtful, literate songwriting in the rock band Grant Lee Buffalo, who broke through internationally with «Fuzzy» (1993) and followed it with «Mighty Joe Moon» (1994). From his 2000 solo debut «Ladies’ Love Oracle» onward he turned toward folk and Americana, rich with detail and humanity — and became known to a new generation as «the Town Troubadour» on Gilmore Girls. At Landmark he plays songs from the new album alongside favourites from a long career.
