Vill Vill Vest presents Wooli Duo and Lauritz Kaasa at Landmark on Friday. Vill Vill Vest returns for its eleventh edition from 5 to 7 November 2026, with more than 60 new artists from across Norway on stages large and small around Bergen. Landmark is one of the festival’s venues on all three nights.
Wooli Duo (Wooli / 無理 / 우리) is an avant-garde folk duo formed by Taiwanese pipa player Fan-Qi Wu and Norwegian drummer Michael Lee Sørenmo. Pipa meets drum kit and Korean drums in original compositions built on Korean and Taiwanese rhythms and melodies, opened up through improvisation and electronics. The duo treat tradition as a living, evolving force rather than a fixed form. Since their debut in Oslo in April 2024 they have played festivals including Aarhus Jazz Festival, Vestafor, Babel Sound Festival and (s)Nodi Festival in Bologna, and their self-titled debut album, Wooli, was released on 13 March 2026.
Lauritz Kaasa is a drummer and songwriter from Trondheim, based in Paris. He works where pop, rock, club music and alternative songwriting meet, with organic grooves and driving drums at the centre. His debut EP, Two Floors Under, came out on the French label Record Makers, known for Air and Sébastien Tellier, and he has already been covered by Les Inrocks and France Culture. His concert at Vill Vill Vest will be his first ever in Norway. With Louis Rivelois (bass), Kieran Little (guitar) and Alvar Benhams (keys).
