La Vacanza could have been the local house band that always plays on the terrace of a family-run restaurant on an island off Naples – where the food, the music, and the view are all 10/10.
The band channels a warm, playful vibe, with plenty of sun and blue sea on the monitors. Vocalist Sofia Guidi typically masters a vast range of styles and languages – but in La Vacanza, the vocals are dreamy, and the lyrics are in Italian, while the rest of the band plays as if they have done nothing else their entire lives. WOW, what a band!
Their music is reason enough to move Jungelfest from January to April – allowing us to celebrate the start of spring with fresh, local indie-soul over crispy hip-hop drums. Looking ahead, the band will release several singles and a debut EP. The release concert will take place at Jungelfest, and everyone in the city is looking forward to it.
