Bergen Kunsthall is a leading centre for contemporary art, showcasing exhibitions and events by international and Norwegian artists. Established in 1838 as Bergens Kunstforening, we’ve been housed in our iconic building in the heart of Bergen city centre since 1935.

Since 1953, Bergen Kunsthall has produced the Bergen International Festival Exhibition, one of Norway’s most significant solo exhibitions. Our live program is a bustling and exciting series of events, including talks, workshops, film screenings, concerts, and club nights. Additionally, we offer a wide range of educational programmes and public debates open to everyone. Bergen Kunsthall regularly collaborates with local and international organisations.

About the position
5% position. Responsibilities include staffing the ticket and coat check areas at events, assisting with setup, audience management, and providing general support to event operations. Event staff are part of the events team, which is responsible for Bergen Kunsthall’s live program. Working hours are primarily evenings and weekends.

Previous experience in event work, bar work, or other cultural activities, such as volunteering for a student organisation or at a festival, is preferred. Engagement with and interest in the local cultural scene and contemporary art are a plus.
