Maia Urstad

During her residency at Live Studio, Maia is working on a ‘radiophonic concert installation’ to be presented in Darmstadt, Germany, at the end of July 2025. The project is inspired by the unique sound universe of amateur radio and will consist of a multi-channel sound piece, live radio communication, vocals, and percussion. The concert installation builds upon the work IONOS, which was commissioned and performed during the Borealis Festival 2023. The inviting party in Darmstadt is the contemporary music festival Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik. The work will be included in ‘SITUATIONS: Listening to Spaces,’ a series of concert installations curated by Carsten Seiffarth (Berlin)
