The General is a perfect mix of action and physical comedy, and is one of the most beloved silent films to this day.
During the American Civil War, Johnnie Gray (Buster Keaton) finds himself in the middle of a thrilling and unwanted adventure. His beloved locomotive, The General, is stolen by the Union spies. And what’s worse, the only thing he treasures more than the locomotive, his dearest Annabelle (Marion Mack), was trapped inside. Now our Johnnie must set off on a comedic pursuit to get the love of his life back, and rescue Annabelle too, of course.
