Over the past decade, Sofie Tollefsbøl has distinguished herself as a key representative of Nordic soul, funk, and alternative R&B, primarily as the lead vocalist of the band Fieh.
With a Spellemann nomination, three critically acclaimed records, a contract with the British major label Decca, and numerous appearances both nationally and internationally, Tollefsbøl has made her mark as a vocalist, songwriter, and producer since her first Urørt upload in 2014.
From singing in the free-jazz collective Andreas Røysum Ensemble to playing bass for house artist Bård Berg—and regularly popping up as a singer, producer, or something else entirely in various corners of the Norwegian music scene—Sofie has always followed her latest whims and dreams. This continuous creative joy has now culminated in her first solo album under the solo project Sofi O.
Sofi O combines catchy, at times quirky melodies, harmonies, and unconventional R&B soundscapes with Sofie’s voice—described as “husky and capricious—a gigantic personality captured by the microphone.” Her debut solo album, Radio Sofi O, was released in November 2025 to critical acclaim. Gaffa described the album as “a consistently raw, playful, effortlessly danceable musical experience” and “a wonderfully sprawling and exciting soundscape—uniquely focused for a debut”—“created and played by some of the country’s most competent and boundary-pushing musicians.”
Radio Sofi O is a highly catchy, creative blend, featuring the curious ingredients of the 60s, Toten, hip hop, and soul.
