Join us for a guided tour of the exhibition “Iter Subterraneum”. Our skilled mediators will guide you through the galleries and together we will examine the artworks and the curatorial ideas behind the exhibition.
“Iter Subterraneum” is inspired by Ludvig Holberg’s novel Niels Klim’s Underground Travels (1741), a work often referred to as the Nordic region’s first science fiction novel. Through the story of a man who falls through a hole in Mount Fløyen in Bergen and discovers a society governed by sentient trees, the Enlightenment’s faith in science is united with fantasy and satire.
