Each spring, Bergen Kunsthall hosts the graduation exhibition with students from the Master’s Programme in Fine Art at UiB’s Faculty of Art, Music and Design (KMD). This year, twenty-seven artists from eleven countries present their work in Picnic, a large-scale exhibition spanning the institution and its adjacent public gardens, curated by Randi Grov Berger.

VISP, with the gracious support of KMD, invites you to a panel talk about Picnic. We have invited three visiting art critics to give their opinions on this year´s show:

Ragnhild Aamås (b. 1984) is based in Oslo. She studied philosophy and archeology at the University of Oslo, MRes Art Exhibition Studies at Central Saint Martin's College of Arts and Designs, and completed her master's degree as a visual artist at the Oslo Academy of the Arts in 2012. Aamås regularly contributes texts to Kunstkritikk.no, and has published texts at Periskop, Billedkunst and Artnews.lt.

Mitch Speed is a Berlin-based writer. In 2019 his study of Mark Leckey’s video artwork
Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore (1999) was published by Afterall Books, as part of their One Work series. His collected essays are forthcoming from Brick Press.

Sergej Timofejev was born in Riga, Latvia. For the past 10 years Timofejev has been a working member of the Arterritory.com team. This is an art-and-culture online publication in Latvian, English, and Russian that focuses on Baltic, Scandinavian, and Eastern European artists. He is also the author of nine books of poetry published in Latvia, Italy, Georgia, and Macedonia.

Moderator: Tuva Mossin holds an MA in art history from the University of Bergen, where she is also a member of the research group Visual Culture. At present, Mossin works as a curatorial assistant at Bergen Kunsthall while also publishing regularly in Kunstkritikk, covering the Bergen art scene.
