Florin Flueras (20–29 Oct 2022)

Florin Flueras (Romania) work expands into spheres of politics, philosophy, spirituality, health care, media, education, literature – producing performative meetings between art and its outside, affecting conventions and certainties in both areas. In Artwork he transforms works into practices, composing a “method” in the format of somatic / spiritual methods. With Alina Popa he created alternative art environments, artworks as Artworlds (Unsorcery, Clinica, Black Hyperbox). With Ion Dumitrescu he initiated Postspectacle, a practice of applying performative tools outside art, like in Candidate’s presidential campaign. In Art Opening, he aims for temporary zones of possibility, for art openings concerning formats, contents and aesthetics. He’s often transferring performative approaches between his writing and his works. More than visual or conceptual, he sees his recent practice as affect art.

His work was shown at Fap Sao Paulo, DEPO Istanbul, Ujazdowski Castle Warsaw, Jardim Equatorial Sao Paulo, Fabrica de Pensule Cluj, House of Drama Oslo, Rampe Stuttgart, MUMOK Kino Vienna, HAU Berlin, TQW Vienna, Karas Zagreb, DeSingel Antwerp, Atelier 35 Bucharest, CNDB Bucharest, MNAC Bucharest, Salonul de Proiecte Bucharest, Aleppo Brussels, Akademie Solitude Stuttgart, Bozar Brussels.

In collaboration with Oktoberdans as a part of apap – advancing performing arts project FEMINIST FUTURES.
