For the series In-between Bergen Kunsthall invites artists to make use of the exhibition spaces in the intervals between two exhibitions, or to use parts of the building that are normally not associated with exhibition activities (empty spaces, passages, facade, exterior or outdoor spaces).
Aleksander Stav’s project for In-between uses the Kunsthall’s entrance and lobby to create a temporary illusion and transformation of the institution. For some days the Kunsthall will have the appearance of a commercial show area for belugas.
Aleksander Stav trained in Bournemouth, England, and completed his master’s degree at the Bergen National Academy of the Arts in 2009. He has participated in a number of exhibitions in Norway, as well as showing works in Brazil and the UK.
