Workshop led by Tejal Shah, Bergen Kunsthall, 21 – 23 February 2025
This workshop will be immersive and experiential in nature. Drawing from Expressive Arts, Buddhism, Psychotherapy and Somatics, we will create a safe container for embodied understanding of interbeingness to unfold.
Together, we will inquire and reflect on questions such as – Who am I? What is the nature of my consciousness? How do phenomena come into being? How is it to be fully present in the here and now? Is there a self separate from another? Is it possible to develop a genuine heart of unconditional love towards all beings including myself? How can I live a more aware-awake life in the midst of challenging circumstances? What is the role of art in creating a more enlightened society?
Anchoring ourselves in felt-sense experience, we will process with the support of guided reflections, talks, discussions, relational work, journaling, drawing, singing, movement, playing, as well as doing nothing. Through this, we will make space for our intuitive wisdom, love, compassion, and skillful means to naturally surface, and we will learn simple methods to invoke the radical joy of a deeply interconnected worldview in our daily lives. The invitation is to stay curious, open, and gentle as we arrive into authentic presence; The heart that cracks open can contain the whole universe.
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is open to people 18 years age and above. It is limited to 16 participants and is ONLY open to artists, art students, art teachers, activists, those working in helping professions (such as psychotherapy, counselling etc.) or at the intersection of these areas.
