The day before the exhibition opens to others, we welcome all our members and a guest to the first exhibition of the year: “Everything Is So Alive!”.
The group exhibition is curated by Silja Leifsdottir and Nora Swantje-Almes, with works by Dora Budor, Tianzhuo Chen, Nikita Gale, Ventura Profana, Tracey Rose and Tejal Shah.
During the member tours, Kunsthallen members have a unique chance to explore the exhibition’s context. This Thursday evening, several artists will be in attendance, and presenter Mari Norddahl, along with curators Silja Leifsdottir and Nora Swantje-Almes, as well as director Kjersti Solbakken, will introduce the exhibition.
“Everything Is So Alive!” offers a hopeful exploration of the possibilities for cohabiting the ruins of a world moving into collapse. Rather than viewing collapse as mere destruction, the exhibition embraces it as a generative force. It considers collapse as a moment of new beginnings, where brokenness is understood as a condition to embody and negotiate, rejecting the neoliberal logic of repair.
Refreshments will be served. Members can bring along one guest on the exclusive tour.
