Bergen Kunsthall welcomes Oslo-based Assata to present their work in the framework of the current exhibition Cassandra Press: A Self-Defense Reader in Action. In the informal discussion, ASSATA will introduce audiences to their activities – raising our collective political consciousness to disrupt the status quo.

ASSATA is an activist and curated library that collects works from revolutionary writers from around the world. Their overall focus is decolonization and critical examination of the social structures we live under using revolutionary knowledge. Through study, community and dialogue, they centre voices that have historically been excluded. Together with the local community and activists, ASSATA creates an inspiring sanctuary that invites learning, organisation and progress.

Plattform is Bergen Kunsthall’s series of lectures and debates with artists and prominent thinkers. This event will only occur in person at Gallery V, Bergen Kunsthall.

Bergen Kunsthall is accessible from the street level, wheelchair accessible, welcomes assistance dogs and has all-gender toilet facilities. If you have questions about accessibility, please email bergen@kunsthall.no or make yourself known to our staff at the door and they will assist you.

Bergen Kunsthall is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We follow a no-tolerance approach to racism, as well as ageism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, ableism, or prejudice based on ethnicity, nationality, class, gender, gender presentation, language ability, asylum status or religious affiliation.
