Part 2 read by Thea Haug (Members and Bookshop, Bergen Kunsthall)

Matias Grøttum (1990, Norway) works in the area between writing and speech and how these two uses of language interact with one another. This area is explored by means of sound installation, performance and other text-based work. In recent years he has been interested in how narrative can be used as an artistic device and how storytelling can be used as a medium in contempo- rary art. Grøttums works are often site-specific and he collaborates with the exhibition space in an attempt to become part of it. What happens when text is turned into sound by a voice? Can speaking and writing make things real?
