Free and all welcome!

Known for the self-reflective characters and the art world references of her novels, Kraus writing navigates and mediates seamlessly between autobiography, fiction and theory. In her talk at Bergen Kunsthall, Kraus will read from a selection of texts that pushes the boundaries of art criticism and writing, to explore the possibilities of writing as a practice.

Chris Kraus is the author of four novels, including I Love Dick (1997) and Summer of Hate (2012), and several books of art and cultural criticism, most recently Social Practices (2018) and After Kathy Acker: A Literary Biography (2017). I Love Dick was adapted as a TV series by Jill Soloway for Amazon Studios in 2016. Kraus is the co-editor of the influential publishing house Semiotext(e), together with Sylvère Lotringer and Hedi El Kholti, and produced films between 1982 and 1995.
