Following on from trailblazing bookings such as JLin, Yeah You, DJ Marfox, Moor Mother, Mhysa, DJ Haram and Abdu Ali, 2019’s lineup features three international artists making music that pushes at the extremes of its form. Bad@Maths is the UK based idiosyncratic vocal duo of Elvin Brandhi and Odie Ji Ghast, pitting speaking-in-tongues vocals against riotous electronics stealing and distorting the furthest reaches of contemporary trap and grime. B L A C K I E… All Caps, With Spaces is the original noise-punk-hip-hop meeting point, hailing from Houston, Texas and utilising vocals, sax and a drum machine, he’s an artist whose black noise sets are legendary for their volume and physical involvement, “They can’t kick you off the stage, if you’re not on the stage”. New York’s Juliana Huxtable is an artist, writer, performer, and musician exploring the intersections of race, gender, queerness, technology and identity, and her DJ sets have been called “glitchy, eclectic, bootleg magic”. Bringing together erratic rhythms, noise, spoken word and bass, her DJ sets regularly feature at Berghain in Berlin, and she has recorded mixes for Discwoman and Boiler Room. Known for delivering deep, yet punchy, late-night sets, Ida Nerbø is a key figure in the underground scene in Bergen as well as in the established clubs. She will be rounding off the evening with a dark, hypnotic and twisted mix of techno and acid.
