Renowned drummer Kresten Osgood (DK) has played with some of the great figures of free jazz, including Roscoe Mitchell, Paul Bley, William Parker, Derek Bailey and Henry Grimes. With one foot in the jazz tradition, and another in ¬ – well, just about everything else – Osgood brings an informal approach to improvisational music, always leaving the audience in good spirits.
Brazilian born Marcela Lucatelli (b. 1988) is among the most innovative composers and vocalists of her generation. Known for her sensual, politically charged performances, her work has been performed by leading ensembles across the world, such as Neue Vokalsolisten Stuttgart and Apartment House, at festivals such as Donaueschinger Musiktage and Darmstadt Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik. Her critically acclaimed debut album Phew! The Last Guide for a Western Obituary was released in 2017.
Straight outta London, we bring the duo of Angharad Davies and Lina Lapelyte, with improvised violin and electronic noise. Davies and Lapelyte are both trained as classical violin players, but are most active as performers of experimental improvisation, and are both part of London’s thriving improv-scene. The two artists have collaborated for several years, and was last seen together in Bergen as part of Lapelytes opera Candy Shop – the Circus, performed at the Borealis festival in 2015.
