Artist Thomas Hirschhorn is known for producing artwork that builds environments intended to open the arts to other disciplines and to a multiplicity of audiences.

Salient features of Hirschhorn’s work include excessiveness, obsession, assertiveness, givingness, set to fight against cynicism, nihilism, and indifference.

Hirschhorn’s presentation at Tout Va Bien will focus on his projects Gramsci Monument and The Eternal Flame, reflecting upon the artist’s statement: “doing art politically – not making political art “ (recasting Jean-Luc Godard’s “It is a matter of making films politically; it is not a matter of making political films”).
