What relevance does the grandest of 19th Century art forms have for a young composer today? Whilst the worlds of Verdi and Puccini seem a million miles away from the conceptual music being composed in 2016, there is a never ending stream of new opera being commissioned and composed, both from within the Opera Houses, and independent of their production structures.
Composer and director Travis Just and Kara Feely are joined by mezzo soprano and director Lore Lixenberg and composer Jennifer Walshe to ask what the future holds for Opera.
Presented by Borealis in collaboration with Bergen National Opera.
