After almost eight months of rebuilding Bergen Kunsthall and Landmark finally reopens, and invites to a grand opening party. The 2. February also marks the Opening of two exhibitions, Rosa Barbas -Time As Perspective and Willem de Rooij – Farafra. The evening continues with a concert by Mouse On Mars, and dj´s Stocken & Svanen and Njål!
Mouse on Mars is one of the few electronic bands to stand the test of time. Constantly reinventing themselves, they have taken electronica to new heights with a unique blend of sound annihilation, fragmented melodies and an impassioned hatred of conformity. For nearly two decades, Andi Toma and Jan St. Werner have sweated over burning consoles to create a new musical language, only to twist it again into thousands of myriad distortions.
Utmark is Bergen Kunsthall’s own concert series at Landmark. Utmark presents concerts in various genres from rock to contemporary classical. The cue word can as easily be electronic as acoustic, established as alternative, international as local, but always with a dedicated focus on the most interesting and relevant new music. Since the start in April 2008 Utmark has presented a varied, multifaceted journey through the landscape of experimental music ranging from metal and break core to classical and folk music.
Previous artists at Utmark includes among others: Nude on Sand, Tape, JÆ, Susanna Wallumrød, Jan Erik Vold, Pierre Bastien, Phonophani, Hatkj, Solens Barn, Kevin Drumm, Zeena Parkins, Maja Ratkje, Ai Phoenix, Koppen, Center of the Universe, Oren Ambarchi, Tim Hecker, N Ensemble, Evangelista, Annette Krebs, Thrones, Nadja, OvO, Silje Nes, Tarwater, Karen Skog Orkester, C.
