Luigi Nono’s scenic action as seen today. The film traces the history of “Intolleranza”, a music-theatrical work with which Luigi Nono responded to the great political issues of his time: immigration and xenophobia, torture, industrial and natural catastrophes.

In “The Case of the Grinning Cat”, film essayist Chris Marker explores the processes that influence how meaning is created. Working as a philosophical manifestation as much as a modern detective story, the film combines archive material with a poetic portrayal of European protests in the aftermath of 9/11.

Johannes Kreidler presents the GEMA office in Berlin with 70,200 quotations of other “sampled” works, tunes from wildly-gyrating stock market quotes, entire bodies of work (like the Beatles) compressed into seconds.The result is a composition consists of a 33 second piece of electronic music.
